Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1, Verse 22 (BG 1.22) — Meaning, Translation & Commentary

Here, we see Arjun commanding his charioteer like a military commander, instructing him to position the chariot between the two armies so that he might observe and recognize the various warriors with whom he must engage in this great battle. In this manner, expressing his desire to inspect the enemy forces, the valiant Arjun displays his courage, valor, readiness, firm resolve, and indomitable strength. Up to this point in the narrative, Arjun—the unconquerable warrior of the Mahabharata—was conducting himself according to his true nature. There were no signs of any mental disturbance or agitation within him.
