Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10, Verse 27 (BG 10.27) — Meaning, Translation & Commentary

The ancient narrative tells of how the celestial beings and the asuras churned the ocean of milk to obtain the nectar of immortality. During this great churning, there emerged a magnificent winged horse of extraordinary power and capability, whose name was Ucchaishrava. There also appeared a radiant white elephant called Airavata. Both of these were presented as gifts to Indra, the king of the celestial beings. According to the sacred accounts, thirteen such precious and wondrous objects in total were revealed through this cosmic churning.
