At his lowest point, Arjuna does something remarkable: he asks for help. He turns to Krishna — his friend, his charioteer — and says: 'I am confused about my duty. Tell me what is right.'
This act of asking is the foundation of the entire Gita. Without this question, there would be no teaching.
“2.7 My heart is overpowered by the taint of pity; my mind is confused as to duty. I ask Thee: Tell me decisively what is good for me. I am Thy disciple. Instruct me who has taken refuge in Thee.”
Notice that Arjuna does not ask 'What should I do?' — he asks about dharma, about what is fundamentally right. This is a philosophical question, not just a practical one.
