11.50 इति thus? अर्जुनम् to Arjuna? वासुदेवः Vaasudeva? तथा so? उक्त्वा having spoken? स्वकम् His own? रूपम् form? दर्शयामास showed? भूयः again? आश्वासयामास consoled? च and? भीतम् who was terrified? एनम् him? भूत्वा having become? पुनः again? सौम्यवपुः of gentle form? महात्मा the greatsouled One.Commentary His own form His form as the son of Vasudeva.

Here Sanjaya confirms to the blind and aged king that the Lord has resumed His gentle form in accordance with the promise He had given. Through the word Vasudeva, he clarifies which form had appeared before—that form in which Sri Krishna was born in the house of Vasudeva. The Lord has now assumed once again the tender and beloved form of Krishna, the intimate friend of Arjuna and the dark-complexioned beloved of the gopis. He reassures the frightened Arjuna with sweet and gentle words. Here once more we perceive in Sanjaya's words his deep concern. He wishes that Dhritarashtra might understand that Sri Krishna alone is the Lord of the universe, and that He stands with the Pandavas. Yet how could a blind man ever see? Now the scene shifts to the battlefield. Sanjaya conveys through Arjuna's words that—
