सर्वयोनिषु कौन्तेय मूर्तयः सम्भवन्ति याः |
तासां ब्रह्म महद्योनिरहं बीजप्रदः पिता ||१४-४||

sarvayoniṣu kaunteya mūrtayaḥ sambhavanti yāḥ . tāsāṃ brahma mahadyonirahaṃ bījapradaḥ pitā ||14-4||


।।14.4।। हे कौन्तेय ! समस्त योनियों में जितनी मूर्तियाँ (शरीर) उत्पन्न होती हैं, उन सबकी योनि अर्थात् गर्भ है महद्ब्रह्म और मैं बीज की स्थापना करने वाला पिता हूँ।।

14.4 O son of Kunti, whatever forms are born from all the wombs, of them the great-sustainer is the womb; I am the father who deposits the seed.

Sri Shankaracharya

।।14.4।।हे कुन्तीपुत्र देव? पितृ? मनुष्य? पशु और मृग आदि समस्त योनियोंमें जो मूर्तियाँ? अर्थात् शरीराकार अलगअलग अङ्गोंके अवयवोंकी रचनायुक्त व्यक्तियाँ उत्पन्न होती हैं? उन सब मूर्तियोंकी सब प्रकारसे स्थित महत् ब्रह्मरूप मेरी माया तो गर्भ धारण करनेवाली योनि है? और मैं ईश्वर बीज प्रदान करनेवाला अर्थात् गर्भाधान करनेवाला पिता हूँ।
