ततः पदं तत्परिमार्गितव्यं
यस्मिन्गता न निवर्तन्ति भूयः |
तमेव चाद्यं पुरुषं प्रपद्ये |
यतः प्रवृत्तिः प्रसृता पुराणी ||१५-४||

tataḥ padaṃ tatparimārgitavyaṃ yasmingatā na nivartanti bhūyaḥ . tameva cādyaṃ puruṣaṃ prapadye . yataḥ pravṛttiḥ prasṛtā purāṇī ||15-4||


।।15.4।। (तदुपरान्त) उस पद का अन्वेषण करना चाहिए जिसको प्राप्त हुए पुरुष पुन: संसार में नहीं लौटते हैं। "मैं उस आदि पुरुष की शरण हूँ, जिससे यह पुरातन प्रवृत्ति प्रसृत हुई है"।।

Sri Shankaracharya

।।15.4।।उसके पश्चात् उस परम वैष्णवपदको खोजना चाहिये अर्थात् जानना चाहिये कि जिस पदमें पहुँचे हुए पुरुष? फिर संसारमें नहीं लौटते -- पुनर्जन्म ग्रहण नहीं करते। ( उस पदको ) कैसे खोजना चाहिये सो कहते हैं -- जो पदशब्दसे कहा गया है? उसी आदिपुरुषकी मैं शरण हूँ? इस भावसे अर्थात् उसके शरणागत होकर खोजना चाहिये। वह पुरुष कौन है? सो बतलाते हैं -- जिस पुरुषसे बाजीगरकी मायाके समान इस मायारचित संसारवृक्षकी सनातन प्रवृत्ति विस्तारको प्राप्त हुई है -- प्रकट हुई है।
