द्वौ भूतसर्गौ लोकेऽस्मिन्दैव आसुर एव च |
दैवो विस्तरशः प्रोक्त आसुरं पार्थ मे शृणु ||१६-६||
dvau bhūtasargau loke.asmindaiva āsura eva ca . daivo vistaraśaḥ prokta āsuraṃ pārtha me śṛṇu ||16-6||
।।16.6।। हे पार्थ ! इस लोक में दो प्रकार की भूतिसृष्टि है, दैवी और आसुरी। उनमें देवों का स्वभाव (दैवी सम्पदा) विस्तारपूर्वक कहा गया है; अब असुरों के स्वभाव को विस्तरश: मुझसे सुनो।।

।।16.6।।इस संसारमें मनुष्योंकी दो सृष्टियाँ हैं। जिसकी रचना की जाय वह सृष्टि है? अतः दैवी,सम्पत्ति और आसुरी सम्पत्तिसे युक्त रचे हुए प्राणी ही? यहाँ भूतसृष्टिके नामसे कहे जाते हैं। प्रजापतिकी दो संतानें हैं देव और असुर इस श्रुतिसे भी यही बात सिद्ध होती है। क्योंकि इस संसारमें सभी प्राणियोंके दो प्रकार हो सकते हैं। प्राणियोंकी वे दो प्रकारकी सृष्टियाँ कौनसी हैं इसपर कहते हैं कि इस प्रकरणमें कही हुई दैवी और आसुरी। कही हुई दोनों सृष्टियोंका पुनः अनुवाद करनेका कारण बतलाते हैं -- दैवी सृष्टिका वर्णन तो अभयं सत्त्वसंशुद्धिः इत्यादि श्लोकोंद्वारा? विस्तारपूर्वक किया गया। परंतु आसुरी सृष्टिका वर्णन विस्तारसे नहीं हुआ। अतः हे पार्थ उसका त्याग करनेके लिये? उस आसुरी सृष्टिको? तू मुझसेमेरे वचनोंसे? विस्तारपूर्वक सुन? यानी सुनकर निश्चय कर।,
