अनिष्टमिष्टं मिश्रं च त्रिविधं कर्मणः फलम् |
भवत्यत्यागिनां प्रेत्य न तु संन्यासिनां क्वचित् ||१८-१२||
aniṣṭamiṣṭaṃ miśraṃ ca trividhaṃ karmaṇaḥ phalam . bhavatyatyāgināṃ pretya na tu saṃnyāsināṃ kvacit ||18-12||
।।18.12।। कर्मों के शुभ, अशुभ और मिश्र ये त्रिविध फल केवल अत्यागी जनों को मरण के पश्चात् भी प्राप्त होते हैं; परन्तु संन्यासी पुरुषों को कदापि नहीं।।
18.12 अनिष्टम् unwished or disagreeable or evil? इष्टम् wished or agreeable or good? मिश्रम् mixed? च and? त्रिविधम् threefold? कर्मणः of action? फलम् fruit? भवति accrues? अत्यागिनाम् to nonrenouncers? प्रेत्य after death? न not? तु but? संन्यासिनाम् to renouncers? क्वचित् ever.Commentary One fruit (of action) is pleasant? another is unpleasant? while the third is a mixture of both. Those in whom good actions preponderate are rorn as gods. Men of evil lives are rorn into animal or vegetable king

।।18.12।।सर्व कर्मोंका त्याग करनेसे जो फल होता है? वह क्या है इसपर कहते हैं? --, अनिष्ट -- नरक और पशुपक्षी आदि योनिरूप इष्ट -- देवयोनिरूप तथा मिश्र -- इष्ट और अनिष्टमिश्रित मनुष्ययोनिरूप? इस प्रकार यह पुण्यपापरूप कर्मोंका फल तीन प्रकारका होता है। जो पदार्थ बाह्य कर्ता? कर्म? क्रिया आदि अनेक कारकोंद्वारा निष्पन्न हुआ हो और बाजीगरकी मायाके समान? अविद्याजनित? महामोहकारक हो? एवं जीवात्माके आश्रितसा प्रतीत होता हो और साररहित होनेके कारण तत्काल ही लय -- नष्ट हो जाताहो? उसका नाम फल है। यह फल शब्दकी व्याख्या है। ऐसा यह तीन प्रकारका फल? अत्यागियोंको अर्थात् परमार्थसंन्यास न करनेवाले कर्मनिष्ठ अज्ञानियोंको ही? मरनेके पीछे मिलता है। केवल ज्ञाननिष्ठामें स्थित परमहंसपरिव्राजक वास्तविक संन्यासियोंको? कभी नहीं मिलता। क्योंकि ( वे ) केवल सम्यग्ज्ञाननिष्ठ पुरुष? संसारके बीजरूप अविद्यादि दोषोंका मूलोच्छेद नहीं करते? ऐसा कभी नहीं हो सकता।
