सञ्जय उवाच |
इत्यहं वासुदेवस्य पार्थस्य च महात्मनः |
संवादमिममश्रौषमद्भुतं रोमहर्षणम् ||१८-७४||

sañjaya uvāca . ityahaṃ vāsudevasya pārthasya ca mahātmanaḥ . saṃvādamimamaśrauṣamadbhutaṃ romaharṣaṇam ||18-74||


।।18.74।। संजय ने कहा -- इस प्रकार मैंने भगवान् वासुदेव और महात्मा अर्जुन के इस अद्भुत और रोमान्चक संवाद का वर्णन किया।।

Word-by-word meanings

18.74 इति thus? अहम् I? वासुदेवस्य of Krishna? पार्थस्य of Arjuna? च and? महात्मनः highsouled? संवादम् dialogue? इमम् this? अश्रौषम् (I) have heard? अद्भुतम् wonderful? रोमहर्षणम् which causes the hair to stand on end.Commentary Wonderful because it deals with Yoga and transcendental spiritual matters that pertain to the mysterious immortal Self.Whenever good? higher emotions manifest themselves in the heart the hair stands on end. Devotees often experience this horripilation.

Non-dualism. The individual self and Brahman are one. The world is appearance (maya). Liberation through knowledge.

।।18.74।।शास्त्रका अभिप्राय समाप्त हो चुका। अब कथाका सम्बन्ध दिखलानेके लिये संजय बोला --, इस प्रकार मैंने यह उपर्युक्त अद्भुत -- अत्यन्त विस्मयकारक रोमाञ्च करनेवाला श्रीवासुदेव भगवान् और महात्मा अर्जुनका संवाद सुना।
