चतुर्विधा भजन्ते मां जनाः सुकृतिनोऽर्जुन |
आर्तो जिज्ञासुरर्थार्थी ज्ञानी च भरतर्षभ ||७-१६||
caturvidhā bhajante māṃ janāḥ sukṛtino.arjuna . ārto jijñāsurarthārthī jñānī ca bharatarṣabha ||7-16||
।।7.16।। हे भरत श्रेष्ठ अर्जुन ! उत्तम कर्म करने वाले (सुकृतिन:) आर्त, जिज्ञासु, अर्थार्थी और ज्ञानी ऐसे चार प्रकार के लोग मुझे भजते हैं।।

।।7.16।।परंतु जो पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले नरश्रेष्ठ हैं ( वे क्या करते हैं सो बतलाते हैं ) हे भारत आर्त अर्थात् चोर व्याघ्र रोग आदिके वशमें होकर किसी आपत्तिसे युक्त हुआ जिज्ञासु अर्थात् भगवान्का तत्त्व जाननेकी इच्छावाला अर्थार्थी यानी धनकी कामनावाला और ज्ञानी अर्थात् विष्णुके तत्त्वको जाननेवाला हे अर्जुन ये चार प्रकारके पुण्यकर्मकारी मनुष्य मेरा भजनसेवन करते हैं।
