बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते |
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः ||७-१९||
bahūnāṃ janmanāmante jñānavānmāṃ prapadyate . vāsudevaḥ sarvamiti sa mahātmā sudurlabhaḥ ||7-19||
।।7.19।। बहुत जन्मों के अन्त में (किसी एक जन्म विशेष में) ज्ञान को प्राप्त होकर कि 'यह सब वासुदेव है' ज्ञानी भक्त मुझे प्राप्त होता है; ऐसा महात्मा अति दुर्लभ है।।
7.19 बहूनाम् of many? जन्मनाम् of births? अन्ते in the end? ज्ञानवान् the wise? माम् to Me? प्रपद्यते approaches? वासुदेवः Vaasudeva? सर्वम् all? इति thus? सः he? महात्मा the great soul? सुदुर्लभः (is) very hard to find.Commentary Vaasudeva is a name of Lord Krishna as He is the son of Vasudeva. He is the allpervading Brahman.The aspirant gradually evolves through Yogic practices? selfless service? devotion and constant meditation in many births and ultimately attains the inner Self. He realises
Non-dualism. The individual self and Brahman are one. The world is appearance (maya). Liberation through knowledge.
।।7.19।।फिर भी ज्ञानीकी स्तुति करते हैं ज्ञानप्राप्तिके लिये जिनमें संस्कारोंका संग्रह किया जाय ऐसे बहुतसे जन्मोंका अन्तसमाप्ति होनेपर ( अन्तिम जन्ममें ) परिपक्व ज्ञानको प्राप्त हुआ ज्ञानी अन्तरात्मारूप मुझ वासुदेवको सब कुछ वासुदेव ही है इस प्रकार प्रत्यक्षरूपसे प्राप्त होता है। जो इस प्रकार सर्वात्मरूप मुझ परमात्माको प्रत्यक्षरूपसे प्राप्त हो जाता है वह महात्मा है उसके समान याउससे अधिक और कोई नहीं है अतः कहा है कि हजारों मनुष्योंमें भी ऐसा पुरुष अत्यन्त दुर्लभ है।

7.19 At the end of many births the man of Knowledge attains Me, (realizing) that Vasudeva is all. Such a high-souled one is very rare.
