3.10 सहयज्ञाः together with sacrifice? प्रजाः mankind? सृष्ट्वा having created? पुरा in the beginning? उवाच said? प्रजापतिः Prajapati? अनेन by this? प्रसविष्यध्वम् shall ye propagate? एषः this? वः your? अस्तु let be? इष्टकामधुक् milch cow of desires.Commentary Prajapati is the Creator or Brahma. Kamadhuk is another name for the cow Kamadhenu. Kamadhenu is the cow of Indra from which everyone can milk whatever one desires. (Cf.VIII.4IX.2427X.25).

# BG 3.10 — Meaning In the beginning, the Creator Brahma, having fashioned the five great elements and all living beings, brought forth humanity as well—endowing all with the capacity to act and receive the fruits of their actions. In that same act of creation, He also established the principle of yajna, or sacrifice—teaching it through His divine ordinance. Yajna signifies action performed with a spirit of dedication and selfless service, free from attachment to personal gain. Throughout nature, this spirit of yajna is evident everywhere. The sun radiates its light; the moon shines forth; the ocean ebbs and flows; the earth sustains all creatures—each performing its function with maternal compassion and the consciousness of yajna, without the slightest clinging to the fruits of their labor. The forces of the cosmos and the cycles of natural phenomena remain ceaselessly engaged in service to all, asking nothing in return. Long before life emerged upon this world, nature had already prepared the fitting conditions for its flourishing. And as life evolves across countless levels of existence, we continue to witness this yajna—this sacred offering—flowing through all of creation, sustaining the existence of all beings and enabling their perpetual growth and transformation. The Creator Brahma fashioned the universe with the spirit of service and the capacity for yajna. It is as though He declared: "Through this yajna, may you attain prosperity; let this be for you the wish-fulfilling cow." In the ancient traditions, the wish-fulfilling cow—the Kamadhenu—was said to grant all desires. Thus the teaching means this: if humanity remains united in cooperation and discipline, performing action with detachment and the spirit of sacrifice, then no goal shall remain beyond reach.
