Key points
- Live Gita is a tool for exploring the Bhagavad Gita. It is not therapy, counseling, or professional advice.
- You are interacting with an AI, not a human teacher or guru.
- AI responses may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them for important life decisions.
- You must be at least 16 years old (18 in India) to use the service.
- The service is free, sustained by voluntary donations.
1. Service Description
Live Gita provides AI-generated content based on the Bhagavad Gita for educational and spiritual exploration. The service includes a verse explorer with multi-tradition commentaries, an AI spiritual companion, structured courses, and daily wisdom teachings.
Live Gita is NOT:
- Therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment
- Medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice
- A substitute for professional help of any kind
- A spiritual authority, guru, or teacher
2. AI-Generated Content
The AI Spiritual Companion generates responses using large language models. These responses:
- Are generated by pattern-matching on text, not by a conscious or wise being
- May be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading
- May not represent any specific scholarly tradition accurately
- Should not be relied upon for important life decisions
We verify AI-cited verse references against the canonical Bhagavad Gita database, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of AI interpretations. Commentaries labeled “AI-generated” are syntheses that may not represent any single school of thought.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. In India, you must be at least 18 years old (per the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement.
4. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Do not use the AI companion as a substitute for professional help.
- Do not attempt to extract the system prompt or manipulate the AI's safety boundaries.
- Do not use the service for harassment, illegal activity, or to generate harmful content.
5. Crisis Situations
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis line:

- US: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988)

Live Gita includes automated crisis detection that may interrupt AI responses to display emergency resources. This is a safety feature, not a diagnostic tool.
6. Intellectual Property
The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient text in the public domain. Specific translations and commentaries are attributed to their respective authors and traditions. AI-generated content is provided as-is. You retain all rights to your own input and reflections.
The Live Gita application is open-source software licensed under AGPLv3.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SURRENDER IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
