सत्त्वात्सञ्जायते ज्ञानं रजसो लोभ एव च |
प्रमादमोहौ तमसो भवतोऽज्ञानमेव च ||१४-१७||

।।14.17।।गुणोंसे क्या उत्पन्न होता है ( सो कहते हैं -- ) उत्कर्षको प्राप्त हुए सत्त्वगुणसे ज्ञान उत्पन्न होता है और रजोगुणसे लोभ होता है तथा तमोगुणसे प्रमाद और मोह -- ये दोनों होते हैं और अज्ञान भी होता है।
