कर्मणः सुकृतस्याहुः सात्त्विकं निर्मलं फलम् |
रजसस्तु फलं दुःखमज्ञानं तमसः फलम् ||१४-१६||
karmaṇaḥ sukṛtasyāhuḥ sāttvikaṃ nirmalaṃ phalam . rajasastu phalaṃ duḥkhamajñānaṃ tamasaḥ phalam ||14-16||
।।14.16।। शुभ कर्म का फल सात्विक और निर्मल कहा गया है; रजोगुण का फल दु;ख और तमोगुण का फल अज्ञान है।।

।।14.16।।पहले कहे हुए श्लोकोंके अर्थका ही सार कहा जाता है --, श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंने शुभ कर्मका? अर्थात् सात्त्विक कर्मका फल सात्त्विक और निर्मल ही बतलाया है? तथा राजस कर्मका फल दुःख बतलाया है? अर्थात् कर्माधिकारसे राजस कर्मका फल भी अपने कारणके अनुसार दुःखरूप राजस ही होता है ( ऐसा कहा है ) और वैसे ही? तामसरूप अधर्मका -- पापकर्मका फल अज्ञान बतलाया है।
