दम्भो दर्पोऽभिमानश्च क्रोधः पारुष्यमेव च |
अज्ञानं चाभिजातस्य पार्थ सम्पदमासुरीम् ||१६-४||

dambho darpo.abhimānaśca krodhaḥ pāruṣyameva ca . ajñānaṃ cābhijātasya pārtha sampadamāsurīm ||16-4||


।।16.4।। हे पार्थ ! दम्भ, दर्प, अभिमान, क्रोध, कठोर वाणी (पारुष्य) और अज्ञान यह सब आसुरी सम्पदा है।।

।।16.4।।अब आगे आसुरी सम्पत्ति कही जाती है --, दम्भ -- धर्मध्वजीपन? दर्प -- धनपरिवार आदिके निमित्तसे होनेवाला गर्व? अतिमान -- पहले कही हुई अपनेमें अतिशय पूज्य भावना तथा क्रोध और पारुष्य यानी कठोर वचन जैसे ( आक्षेपसे ) कानेको अच्छे नेत्रोंवाला? कुरूपको रूपवान् और हीन जातिवालेको उत्तम जातिवाला बतलाना इत्यादि। अज्ञान अर्थात् अविवेक -- कर्तव्य और अकर्तव्यादिके विषयमें उलटा निश्चय करना। हे पार्थ ये सब लक्षण? आसुरी सम्पत्तिको ग्रहण करके उत्पन्न हुए मनुष्यके हैं? अर्थात् जो असुरोंकी सम्पत्ति है उससे युक्त होकर उत्पन्न हुए मनुष्यके चिह्न हैं।,
