देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा |
तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ||२-१३||
dehino.asminyathā dehe kaumāraṃ yauvanaṃ jarā . tathā dehāntaraprāptirdhīrastatra na muhyati ||2-13||
Just as in this body the embodied (soul) passes through childhood, youth and old age, so also does it pass into another body; the wise person is not confused by this.

Krishna explains to Arjuna: "Think about your own life — you passed from being a baby to a boy to a young man to who you are now. You didn't die in between. Death is just another change like that. The wise are not shaken by it."
