2.65 प्रसादे in peace? सर्वदुःखानाम् (of) all pains? हानिः destruction? अस्य of him? उपजायते arises (or happens)? प्रसन्नचेतसः of the tranilminded? हि because? आशु soon? बुद्धिः intellect (or reason)? पर्यवतिष्ठते becomes steady.Commentary When the mental peace is attained? there is no hankering after senseobjects. The Yogi has perfect mastery over his reason. The intellect abides in the Self. It is ite steady. The miseries of the body and the mind come to an end.

# BG 2.65 It is natural for the human mind to ask: "What will happen when peace is attained?" When peace is realized, all suffering comes to an end. In this statement lies the definition of happiness. The presence of distractions is called suffering. Therefore, peace of mind—which is the absence of distractions—should be understood as happiness itself. Peace is happiness, and happiness is peace. Here, the cessation of suffering should be understood as the withdrawal of desires. In the introduction to the Bhagavad Gita, we have seen that due to the veil of desires covering the intellect, a person falls into grief and delusion. In contrast, the wise one, through the practice of the yoga of intellect described earlier, destroys desires and recognizes the truth of the Self beyond them. Generally, liberation from desires appears difficult for human beings, but this can be accomplished through self-restraint and the yoga of equanimity. In the next verse, the Blessed One speaks thus:
