Modern

In this chapter, through the examples cited, a modest attempt has been made to reveal the divine manifestations of the Lord. Yet it cannot be said that these have exhaustively defined the truth. We have been taught that through discrimination, we can recognize the eternal and divine essence within this transient world. From the illustrations given above, it becomes clear that in all the moving and stationary objects of creation, the Lord Himself expresses His presence in forms endowed with majesty, radiance, or power. He exists in all names and forms. Here Sri Krishna states with utmost clarity what the divine presence is in this multifaceted creation, and what is the criterion for recognizing it. Wherever there is an expression of greatness, radiance, or power, that is but a ray of the infinite splendor of the Supreme Self. There is no doubt that this summary of the extensive discussion above is unprecedented. In all these examples, either the majesty of the Lord shines forth, or His radiance, or His power. This indicator given to Arjuna for perceiving the Supreme Self everywhere will prove equally beneficial for all students of the Gita. Now, finally, the Lord speaks.
